Center Approves Appointment of Vikram Dev Dat as Next DGCA Director


New Delhi, 22 January (IAS). The Center on Saturday approved the appointment of IAS officer Vikram Dev Dutt as the next chief of the aviation regulator’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

A decree issued by the Ministry of Personnel and Training on Saturday said the Cabinet’s Appointment Committee (ACC) had approved Dutt’s appointment as the next DGCA.

A Batch IAS Officer in 1993, Dutt is now the CMD of Air India Asset Holding Limited (AIAHL). He will take office as Director of the Aviation Regulatory Authority on February 28, following the retirement of his DGCA Director Arun Kumar.


Mr. Dutt has been appointed Assistant Secretary of State to the Government of India and will succeed Mr. Arun Kumar’s retirement pension post on 28 February 2023. Follow recruitment rules.

Kumar, Batch IAS Officer in 1989, has headed the DGCA since July 2019.


Prior to that, Dutt also served as CMD for Air India. In charge in January last year.

According to the order, the ACC on Saturday appointed Aarti Bhatnagar as Undersecretary and Financial Advisor of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Amardeep Singh Bhatia as Undersecretary of the National Disaster Management Agency, Alok as Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Satinder Pal Singh as: . Housing and Urban Affairs I was appointed Undersecretary of the Ministry of Urban Affairs.


The ACC also approved a one-year extension of the Central Deputy’s term of office of Cabinet Secretary Ashutosh Jindal.
