Chicago Weather Alert: Severe storms by late afternoon

CHICAGO (CBS) — Good morning. We’ll be in ALERT MODE this morning for thunderstorms growth late this afternoon and tonight.

At 12:30 this morning the Storm Prediction Center issued a Marginal likelihood (lowest) for extreme storms. The fundamental threats are hail, wind, and an remoted twister that may’t be dominated out. These are low threats however we’ll see many dry hours in the course of the day, and a variety of of us will likely be exterior, so I’m being cautious.

After a couple of showers early this morning, we’ll see only a slight likelihood of rain in the course of the day.
