Beijing : The warnings and speculations being made about the current situation of Corona in China are frightening. Airfinity, a UK research firm, has claimed that on January 13, 2023, Corona will be at its peak for the first time in China. During this, 37 lakh people can get infected in a day. Deaths will be at their peak after 10 days when about 25 thousand people are expected to die in a day. The company estimates that by the end of December, the corona figure would reach 584,000 and by the end of April it could go up to 1.7 million.

Airfinity’s model is based on a study of local provinces in China. Epidemiologists have predicted that the first peak will be seen in areas where cases are currently increasing rapidly. In the second peak, cases will increase in the rest of the provinces of China. The company predicted that cases in Beijing would now peak and that deaths and hospitalizations would peak in the next one to two weeks.

Second peak on March 3, 2023

The company has predicted a second peak on March 3, 2023. During this, daily cases can reach 42 lakhs. It is believed that rural areas may be more affected in this wave. The government last month eased long and strict Covid restrictions following nationwide protests. Since then the situation is getting worse. The number of patients in hospitals has exceeded the available ICU beds and cemeteries have run out of space for dead bodies.

9 thousand people dying daily in China

Surprisingly, amid the outcry, China has registered just one death since December 30. The same figure is from the day before. Government statistics seem to be far from reality. According to the British firm, currently around 9000 people in China are losing their lives due to Covid. It is estimated that since December 1, more than 1 lakh people have lost their lives in China and 1.86 crore people have been infected.
