Crack in UP Opp ranks as Rajbhar attends Yogi dinner for Murmu
In a seeming crack within the Opposition ranks in Uttar Pradesh forward of the Presidential election, Om Prakash Rajbhar, a key ally of Samajwadi Party, on Friday night attended a dinner hosted by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in honour of NDA’s presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu in Lucknow.
Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav’s uncle and celebration MLA, Shivpal Yadav, additionally attended the dinner held on the CM’s official residence.
Notably, a day in the past, Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief Rajbhar didn’t attend a press convention held by Akhilesh Yadav and RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary in assist of Yashwant Sinha, the joint candidate of the Opposition events for the presidential ballot. Rajbhar had claimed that he was not invited to the press meet.
Rajbhar’s presence on the CM’s dinner for Murmu got here hours after he informed mediapersons that he was “waiting for divorce from the SP”. “I will not initiate any step to end the alliance with the SP. I will wait to be divorced (talaq) by Akhilesh Yadav,” Rajbhar informed PTI earlier than leaving for his celebration assembly in neighbouring Mau district.
Rajbhar additionally stated he’s “still with the Samajwadi Party, but will not remain together forcefully if Akhilesh Yadav doesn’t want it.”
On skipping the assembly with Yashwant Sinha in Lucknow on Thursday, he stated: “Akhilesh Yadav might have forgotten about me, so he didn’t call me.”
Rajbhar, whose celebration has six members within the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, stated he’ll announce his determination on supporting the Presidential candidate on July 12.
