Firing of official who oversaw Chicago Police reforms means officers will not get required coaching, sources say


CHICAGO (CBS) — One day after Robert Boik was fired from his job as director of reform for the Chicago Police Department, sources are telling CBS 2 the transfer means many officers will not get their required coaching.

As CBS 2’s Sabrina Franza reported Wednesday, hundreds of officers might be affected.

Boik, the chief director of the Office of Constitutional Policing & Reform, was fired sooner or later after writing a important electronic mail to police Supt. David Brown. Dozens of cops who had been in his unit will now be relocated to patrol.
