Jay Leno is recovering after being critically injured in a gasoline fireplace, the comic confirmed to CBS News.

On Monday, the previous “Tonight Show” host confirmed reviews of a latest medical emergency, saying he suffered “serious burns” from a gasoline fireplace. 

“I got some serious burns from a gasoline fire. I am OK. Just need a week or two to get back on my feet,” Leno stated in a press release.

TMZ reported that one in every of Leno’s vehicles erupted in flames on Sunday in his classic automotive storage in Burbank, leaving the comic with burns on the left aspect of his face — sparing his eyes and ears. 

Leno, 72, was taken to the Grossman Burn Center in West Hills for remedy.
