Lagardere opens Aelia Duty Free stores at Adelaide Airport
Travel retail company Lagardere has launched its Aelia Duty Free stores at Adelaide Airport.
The new stores, designed and built in collaboration with Peckvonhartel, Trivision, Studio All and Bestec, more than double the duty-free retail offer in both the arrivals and departures areas. Travellers can enjoy brands and experiences from all duty-free categories, within an 800sqm store at departures and 400sqm store at arrivals.
“The partnership between Adelaide Airport and Lagardere AWPL continues to grow from strong foundations built over more than 20 years,” said Costa Kouros, CEO of Lagardere AWPL.
“Our focus now is on delivering magical moments for every traveller that passes through our doors as we showcase the very best of Australia and South Australia to the world.”
The company says more than 150sqm of space is devoted to local goods, including more than 50 brands that have just entered the duty-free business. The boutiques also carry high-end brands including Dior, Chanel, Estee Lauder, and Jo Malone.
Australian brands include Jurlique, luxury fragrances from Goldfield and Banks and cosmetics from Hunter Lab, Salt by Hendrix, and Glasshouse.
Brenton Cox, MD at Adelaide Airport says this represents a “further significant rise” in international services over the previous months.
The departures store also has a 50sqm books, news and convenience section, which Lagardere describes as “unique” in the Pacific region.
