Man survives 100-foot fall off cliff in Calif. after 22-minute rescue


A person survived a roughly 100 ft fall off a California cliff edge that “crumbled” beneath him as he was strolling on it, authorities mentioned.  

The man was strolling at daybreak alongside the cliff overlooking Moss Beach in San Mateo County, California, when the cliff collapsed, inflicting him to fall, CAL FIRE San Mateo tweeted.

A lady heard the person’s cries for assist round 8:30 a.m. and dialed 911, CBS reported.

The rescue took roughly 22 minutes, authorities mentioned. Video posted to the CAL FIRE San Mateo unit’s Twitter account captured greater than a half-dozen firemen utilizing a pulley system to convey the person up the steep cliff face to security. 

The man survived a roughly 100 ft fall.

“Avoid cliff edges as they are unstable,” CAL FIRE warned in its tweet.

In May, a 25-year-old man died and three others have been injured after the group plummeted from a roughly 300-foot ocean cliff in Palos Verdes Estates in Southern California.
