McLaughlin: Oregon State Football Underrated in 2022

Oregon State football’s 2022 nonconference schedule is about as tough as it could be without featuring a Power 5 opponent.
Week 1 sees Boise State come into Corvallis, while Week 2 will feature a matchup between the Beavs and Fresno State away from the confines of Reser Stadium.
With a high-quality FCS opponent in Montana State on the schedule in week 3, going 2-1 in that stretch would be a good run for Oregon State as they enter Year 5 under Jonathan Smith.
On today’s episode of Locked On Pac-12, I’m joined by senior writer/editor of BeaverBlitz.com, Carter Bahns.
Together we go through Oregon State’s 2022 football schedule, making predictions for each game.
The conference slate begins in a brutal fashion with USC at home and Utah on the road in back-to-back weeks…Could the Beavs upset either the Trojans or the Utes to jumpstart Pac-12 play?
After those two games, Oregon State’s schedule softens greatly with plenty of opportunities to rack up some wins.
Last year the Beavs snapped a long losing streak to Stanford, could they snap another one against Washington State, which Jonathan Smith has not yet defeated as Oregon State’s head coach?
A second straight year over .500 is in the cards for the Beavers, but a key will be to avoid losing games that they should win.
