Jabalpur. For the last two days, cold has been wreaking havoc in Madhya Pradesh. Night and night, there is also a period of melting. The minimum temperature was recorded at 7 degrees or less in about 17-18 districts of the state. According to meteorologists, there has been a lot of snowfall due to western disturbance in the hilly areas of North India. Due to the advance of this western disturbance, the icy winds have turned here. In such a situation, the severe cold period in the entire state is likely to continue till January 19.

Talking about the lowest temperature in MP, the districts of Sagar and Rewa divisions are experiencing cold like mountains. The lowest temperature in the state reached around 2 degrees and Rajgarh and Datia were the coldest. Farmers are being worried about the warning of frost, while people are also facing problems due to fog in many districts including Bhopal. In the capital Bhopal and Jabalpur, the temperature remained constant by 7 degrees.

Situation worsens in Gwalior, Datia and Nagaon

In the last 24 hours, there has been a change of about 6-7 degrees here. Datia was the coldest place across the state with a maximum temperature of 2.1 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was recorded at 2.3 degrees Celsius in Rajgarh, 2.5 degrees Celsius in Gwalior and Nagaon, 3.5 degrees Celsius in Khajuraho, 4.2 degrees Celsius in Raisen, 4.4 degrees Celsius in Umaria-Guna, 4.6 degrees Celsius in Rewa, 5 degrees Celsius in Ratlam, 6 degrees Celsius in Ujjain, Damoh and Sagar, 6.1 degrees Celsius in Satna and 6.2 degrees Celsius in Pachmarhi.

The Meteorological Department has predicted that the weather will remain dry in the next 24 hours. The department has issued a yellow alert. Moderate fog will occur at some places in Chambal division, Chhatarpur, Gwalior, and Datia districts. Cold wave conditions are likely to prevail at isolated places in Umaria, Ratlam, Raisen, Rajgarh, Sagar, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Gwalior and Datia districts. There is a possibility of floods in Chambal division, Umaria, Chhatarpur, Rajgarh and Gwalior.
