Pakistan Terror Attack: Terrorist attacks increased by 28 percent in Pakistan in 2022, 49 attacks in December

Islamabad: India’s neighboring country Pakistan has seen a 28 percent increase in terrorist attacks in the year 2022 as compared to 2021. This information has been shared in a report published on Monday. According to the report released by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), terrorists carried out 376 terror attacks last year, killing 533 people and injuring 832 others, Xinhua news agency reported.

The report states that the attacks during the year 2022 are also the highest number of terrorist attacks during the last five years. This is the first time since 2017 that the country has faced more than 300 terrorist attacks in a year and the first time since 2018 that more than 500 people have died. The last month of the year 2022 saw 44 per cent of the total attacks in the country last year. In December 2022, there has been an increase in terrorist attacks by 88 percent in Balochistan and 54 percent in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

49 attacks in December

In December, terrorists carried out 49 attacks and killed 56 people, including 32 security personnel. The report said that in response to the terrorist attacks, security forces conducted 16 operations in December and killed 39 terrorists and arrested 47 others. The Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan and the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army claimed most of the attacks, posing serious challenges to the Pakistani government as well as the security forces.

Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan is directly warning the Government of Pakistan. TTP has recently announced the formation of its new government in Pakistan. Along with this, many ministries have been divided. The TTP created the ministries of Defence, Justice, Information, Economic Affairs, Education and Fatwa Information.
