Rahul Gandhi’s workplace in Wayanad attacked throughout protest march, 8 SFI activists in custody

A protest march of the SFI, the scholars wing of ruling CPI(M), towards Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s workplace right here on Friday turned violent as a bunch of protestors allegedly entered the Lok Sabha member’s workplace and vandalised it.

Police mentioned the protest march contained round 100 Students’ Federation of India (SFI) activists and so they barged into the workplace.

“There were around 80-100 activists. As of now, eight of them are under custody. More police have been deployed,” police advised PTI.

The scholar organisation protested alleging that Gandhi didn’t intervene within the challenge of making buffer zones round forests within the hilly areas of Kerala.

Television channels aired visuals of a bunch of protestors creating ruckus contained in the MP’s workplace.

Leader of Opposition V D Satheesan sharply reacted to the incident and mentioned the assault confirmed lawlessness and “goondaism”.

“Ghastly attack by SFI goons at Rahul Gandhi’s MP Office at Wayanad. It is lawlessness and goondaism. CPM has turned into an organised mafia. Strongly Condemning the attack,” the Congress chief tweeted.
