S Jaishankar on Pakistan: Terror base is very close to India… Jaishankar in Austria ‘washed’ Pakistan without naming it
Jaishankar’s attack on Pakistan
“Since the epicenter (of terrorism) is located so close to India, naturally our experiences and insights are useful to others,” he said without naming any country. Jaishankar arrived here from Cyprus on the second leg of his two-nation tour. Expressing ‘deep’ concern over the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, S Jaishankar has said that India is in favor of peace. Since the beginning of the war, New Delhi has tried to get Moscow and Kyiv to return to the means of diplomacy and dialogue, as differences cannot be resolved by violence.
What did Jaishankar say on Russia-Ukraine?
Jaishankar said, ‘This (Ukraine) conflict is indeed a matter of very deep concern. Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared in September that we truly believe that this is not an era of war. You cannot resolve differences and issues through violence. “So from the very beginning, our effort has been to urge (Russia and Ukraine) to return to dialogue and diplomacy,” he said. The Prime Minister himself has spoken on several occasions with Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky. I myself have also spoken to my colleagues from Russia and Ukraine.
