Scott accounts for 7 TDs, Incarnate Word routs SIU 64-29


SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Lindsey Scott Jr. threw six landing passes and ran for an additional rating as Incarnate Word rolled previous Southern Illinois 64-29 on Saturday evening in a season opener.

Scott, a Nicholls State switch, was 17 of 25 passing for 391 yards. He linked with 9 receivers that included six completions of 36 yards or extra. Taylor Grimes caught two landing passes and completed with 126 yards receiving. Darion Chafin added 4 receptions for 106 yards and a rating.

The Cardinals scored three touchdowns plus added a security within the first quarter. Scott threw a 66-yard landing cross and a 55-yarder every to Grimes. Scott’s scoring run got here from 6 yards out.

Scott’s 79-yard landing cross to Chafin made it 29-7 early in second quarter. Tiji Paul had a pick-six for the Cardinals within the third.

Romeir Elliott had 103 yards dashing and a landing for Southern Illinois.
